National Computer Board, Singapore

The National Computer Board (NCB) was established in 1981, with Philip Yeo as its founding Chairman and Tan Chin Nam as founding General Manager. I was among the 4th batch of NCB Scholars in 1985. The other NCB Scholars in my batch are:

  1. Chng Eng Leok
  2. Hung Gih Guang
  3. Lam Chih Chao
  4. Agnes Lee
  5. Lee Chia Ling
  6. Liang Moung
  7. Andrew Lim
  8. Ruth Liow
  9. Wong Toon King

In 1999, NCB merged with the Telecommunications Authority of Singapore (TAS) to form the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA). In 2016, IDA and the Media Development Authority (MDA) restructured into two new entities: the present day Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Government Technology Agency (GovTech).
